Usually a question that we all ask at some point. Where does she go when she says she's going "out with the girls?" Is she going to see another dude, or is she really going to visit her grandmother? These are all questions that can create a great deal of anxiety in the minds of guys. It is not that we don't trust our girlfriend, but more that we don't trust other people. It seems that some companies have been thinking about such things. And now thanks to the Panchira Corp. in Japan, we have a way to track our beloved ladies at all times... It is a product called the forget-me-not panties. They are a set of skivvies with a GPS transmitter embedded in the fabric. And in the words of a famous beer commercial, they are "Brilliant!" Apparently if your lady is wearing this GPS laden garment, then you can have her exact location sent via satellite to your cell phone, PDA, and PC simultaneously. WOW! This can be seen as a great tool in foiling her attempts to do you wrong.
But I believe that a product like this raises another question. It is a question about the acceptability in society of two things: women being deceitful with their men, and men being untrusting of their women. It happens in an all too often manner, and it can be detrimental to a relationship. What has degraded the serenity of the relationship in today's society so much so that we need to "keep tabs" on our significant others?
Sometimes in relationships people get bored. They become dissatisfied with something that has transcended from the initial bliss that is dating. It could be one of many things, such as dissatisfaction with the sex, unlike views on the future, or even the feeling of not being important to their significant other. These are symptoms of a failing relationship, and the outcome can sometimes be the worst displays of judgment possible. Many people, both sexes included, are afraid to leave a relationship that has gone the wrong direction. They fear the uncertainty of single life, the turmoil that comes with not having someone with whom to be close. This fear can often times cause those stranded few to stay in a relationship despite their unhappiness. Some even think that they can remain under the safety net of a relationship until some other opportunity makes itself available.
When it comes to the realm of cheating it seems that men have always gotten the worst wrap. Men who cheat have been long labeled as scoundrels, philanderers, and scum. They are often publicized on the losing end of battles over custody and finances in divorce cases. And while these men have rightfully deserved all of the bad press they have received, they are not the sole proprietors of these perfidious ways. Females in many respects have grown in the ways of deception and unchaste behavior. I believe that this is just another situation that speaks to the dishonest climate of the dating arena in today's society. It is also the fact that females are exerting their control over the matters of the bedroom. It has become fashionable for females to become more promiscuous, thus destroying much of the fabric of good relationships. Not to say that all girls cheat, but none are saints in these games of deception. I would have never thought, growing up, that I would ever have to worry about a girl cheating on me in a relationship; mostly because I had never considered cheating myself. But once I was in a long term relationship, it was easy based on her actions to be mindful of signs that she may be unfaithful. It had a lot to do with her lack of female friends, and her need to always be social with males; something that has infected the culture of females today. The saddest part is that I would have entertained the idea of using the afore mentioned product in order to clear my anxiety about her extra-curricular life. Was I just an overly jealous boyfriend? Or have we come to a point in society where females have begun to exploit their dominance in the sexual arena?
I leave you to your opinions...
